anyone know of any shar pei rescues?
my mom recently passed away leaving behind a shar pei that none of us kids can care for. we hate the idea of having to take the dog to the pound and risk her getting put down, so we're looking for a rescue that could possibly take her in… the closer to utah the better, but i think we'd be willing to pay to ship her if necessary

Here are a couple I found just doing a google search. The first link has a long list, and I've included the contact information for Utah. The second had a pretty good list, but no contact for Utah. At the very least I think these two groups would be able to help you out.

Working with rescues in my area I know they take al animals readily if they have the room or help you find another rescue to place your dog with. They too dislike pounds..You should find the process of surrender easier then you think.
Inheriting an animal is really really tough….I am glad you tried with your inherited dog and are now looking for the next best place for her to go…you and your siblings are a good group of people.
